After obtaining her Master of Genetic Counselling degree, Cheryl started her professional career in quantitative research at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI), utilising data from the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC) to investigate the role of pregnancy lifestyle factors on early birth outcomes in Australian children. She then took on a genetic counselling role with the Monash IVF group in 2014, where she spent the better half of a decade seeing patients and families across prenatal, general and IVF settings. During this time, Cheryl also supervised clinical placement students from the Master of Genetic Counselling (MGenCouns) program, and co-supervised PHD and MGenCouns students investigating topics within the areas of genetic and genomic testing, prenatal surveillance, and fetal sonography.

Cheryl is an active member of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia, Fertility Society of Australia, and The Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association; and is always on the lookout for opportunities to learn and contribute to expertise within the dynamic field of reproductive health and genetics.  She maintains a keen interest in research and is an author on peer reviewed studies in several reputable journals, including the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has also attended and presented original research in national and international conferences.

As Team Leader of the Genetics department at No.1, Cheryl works closely with her team and other No.1 departments to ensure that we are offering the highest standard of patient care founded on compassion, empathy, and current evidence-based science.
