Dr Lynn Burmeister is the owner and Medical Director of No. 1 Fertility. Dr Lynn has over 20 years of experience in the IVF industry and holds the highest qualification for a fertility specialist (CREI). During this subspecialty training she spent two years at the world-renowned Cornell University, studying and working with world fertility leader Professor Zev Rosenwaks.
Always at the forefront of research and development in our field, Dr Lynn performed the first ovarian tissue graft to lead to a successful pregnancy in Australia in 2012 (Med J Aust 2013; 198 (3): 158-159).
DR KELLI SORBY (PhD MBioeth MClinEmb)

Dr Kelli Sorby has over 20 years’ experience in the IVF industry. Kelli is the Scientific Director, the head of Embryology at No.1 Fertility, and has been with the company since its establishment. Aside from her extensive clinical experience, Kelli’s impressive academic career includes a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, a Graduate Diploma of Reproductive Science, a Master of Clinical Embryology, a Graduate Diploma of Genetic Counselling, a Master of Bioethics and a PhD in Embryology.
Outside of her clinical roles Kelli served 9 years on the Victorian Patient Review Panel, the body responsible for administering various aspects of State ART legislation. She is currently an adjunct senior lecturer at Monash University and a PhD student supervisor.
She is a strong advocate for research and ongoing education within clinics, ensuring all scientific staff at No.1 have the opportunity to contribute to research aimed at improving outcomes for our patients. She is an author on multiple peer reviewed journal articles and her PhD studies focused on identifying non-invasive markers that may help to predict an embryo’s chance of creating a healthy pregnancy.
DR KERRI JOHNSON (PhD BSc Hons)
Research Coordinator
Dr Kerri Johnson is a career scientist with extensive experience across several fields of Biological Science. After completing her PhD, studying the population genetics of mosquitofish, Kerri spent many years working in research laboratories, before making the move into human embryology in 2009. Kerri manages the research program at No.1, coordinates projects with our research collaborators and enjoys mentoring and guiding professional staff in their research endeavours. Kerri is ICH-GCP trained and ensures that all research conducted at No.1 Fertility is of high quality, ethical and compliant with all relevant State, National and International regulations.
TRACEY KING (BBiomed/Bsc MClinEmb)
PhD Candidate and Embryologist
Tracey is an experienced embryologist who, after years of applying her clinical expertise in the IVF laboratory, decided to broaden her research horizons by undertaking a PhD in Embryology. Jointly supervised by Professor Zenker at Monash University and Dr Sorby at No.1 Fertility, Tracey’s work seamlessly blends the clinical with research, paving the way for new discoveries to directly improve the care our patients receive.
