Medicare
To be eligible for a Medicare rebate you will need to provide a valid referral from a GP or specialist prior to attending appointments and commencing a cycle.
For any questions relating to Medicare rebates and the application of the Medicare Safety Nets (OMSN and EMSN) please contact Medicare directly on 132011 or visit humanservices.gov.au
Private Health Insurance
Private health insurance can help reduce the cost associated with hospital expenses incurred as part of an IVF cycle. It can also help reduce the cost of medications not covered by Medicare. While you do not need private health insurance to access treatment with No.1 Fertility, it may help to reduce some costs associated with your treatment, such as hospital day surgery fees which are not covered by Medicare.
Please contact your private health insurance provider directly for more information relating to coverage, rebates, waiting periods and eligibility.
Day Surgery and Anesthetist
Day surgery theatre admission costs are payable in addition to the No.1 Fertility cycle fees. These fees are often covered by private health insurance; however, you will need to check with your insurer to determine if you are covered for IVF procedures.
If you want to know more about your hospital fees and charges, contact the Epworth Freemasons or service provider directly. For egg collection, the relevant item number is 13212 and without private health insurance the cost for admission for this procedure is $1,210.00.
Procedures performed under anaesthetic will incur an additional charge for an anaesthetist of up to $450.00.
