Medicare Rebates
At No.1 Fertility, we’ll guide you through the process of accessing Medicare rebates, ensuring you receive the financial support you need for your fertility journey.
The Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) provides a rebate for out-of-pocket costs for out-of-hospital services (including GP and specialist attendances). The Extended Medicare Safety Net (EMSN) provides an additional rebate for those whose costs go over an annual threshold.
The Extended Medicare Safety Net threshold for 2024 is $2,544.30.
To ensure you qualify for a Medicare rebate, it’s important to have a valid referral from your GP or specialist before attending appointments or starting your treatment cycle. GP referrals remain valid for 12 months, providing ongoing support, while specialist referrals are valid for up to three months. Make sure both your name and your partner’s (if applicable) are included on the referral.
Once your treatment cycle has been completed, No.1 Fertility will handle the process of submitting a claim to Medicare on your behalf. A rebate will be paid into your nominated bank account within 3-5 business days post lodgement.
